The public referendum vote to purchase a new 2016 Pierce Rescue Pumper was held on Tuesday, January 26,2016. The referendum passed by an overwhelming majority.The approval to proceed with the purchase of the truck was approved by the Board of Fire commissioners on Wednesday, January 27,2016.

Amanda’s Law went into effect on February 22, 2010. It requires essentially all residences, both new and existing, to have carbon monoxide alarms installed. The specific requirements differ for new and existing residences and also on when the buildings were built.
